Mexican Cheese Soup

This is by far one of my favorites to make

Combine in crock pot:
1 lb shredded cheddar cheese *
1 bag frozen corn
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can chopped green chilies
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 can diced tomatoes
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 jalapeno pepper

Cook 4-5 hours on low.

I serve in a bowl with tortilla chips and a bit of sour cream on top. Some times if I'm feeling feisty I add some more cheese.

*You can used 1 lb cubed cheese but I find it doesn't melt. You can also add meat to this but I make without being a veggie only eater :)

Made my first card!

I made my first card on Sunday. I needed to make a get well soon card for my uncle. He has cancer and just had his leg removed. I wanted to make him one, well because there aren't any cards out there that seemed appropriate.
So off I went to Michael's. I got some card stock, some blank cards, some sticker with quotes on them and some brads.

I used some fabric I already had and glued everything together, did a bit of stitching and placed a brad on and we have a card!

without words

I love brads! I felt it helped make it a bit more 'manly'

Saying on inside of the card

Finished card read for mailing!
I need to work on my printing but overall I am pleased. It came out how I wanted it too. I think my Uncle Steve will like it!

I finally took an afternoon and got some of the kids professional pictures out and framed them. Ethan is almost 2 and I am just starting this. Right before Lily was born we had a family pic done so I framed that too. Sohel would not have allowed me to frame an 8x10 so I did a 5x7

I also fixed a few of the pic from our wedding. They were falling out of the frame. I haven't hung them up because we are moving in a few months and the walls in our current house are horrible. Crumble every.single.time I try to hang something.

Here are a few pics of the frames.

Frames from Ikea. Which by the way I could LIVE in Ikea.
Ok, so I have been thinking about my blog. It started off as a way to document my cloth diapering experience. I have now documented it and I am not sure where to go from here. So I have decided to document some of my fun things I enjoy doing. Crafts, sewing, cooking, etc.

My blog is lame

Ok so I have decided that my blog has become lame. I plan on revamping soon. I just need some time without a kid needing something.

I think I started off ok but then I started to bore myself. I'll return soon with something clever to write about! Plus I just finished my first card and I am pretty proud of myself and I want to share!

Yesterday BRU was having a sale for Reward Zone members. I have been eyeing an organizational shelf for Ethan and yesterday it was 30% off YAY!! So I loaded up the kids in the 100 degree weather and hit up the BRU. I'm super excited about getting his playroom cleaned up. Here are some pics of Ethan helping and his playroom and the shelf all put together :)

Little Lily turned 3 months on at the end of June and I can't believe how fast it has gone. This time last year was when she was conceived (ew I know ;0)). I wasn't looking to have a baby right away, Ethan was only 10 months old but now that she is here, I am glad! 2 kids under 2 is hard at times but it's rewarding too.

I have talked about her problems a little bit and I think we have come to the conclusion that she has colic. I am hoping it will go away soon. She will cry for a few hours every night and then finally fall asleep at 9pm. Its hard on me during the day because she needs a lot of attention and Ethan gets stuck playing alone or watching way to much Nick Jr.
This weekend I am going to get my hair, nails and eyebrows done. I can't wait to feel good again! It's been a long time since I have gotten to do that and have some girl time while I am at it.
I need to start working on the lists for moving and getting my things together for a yardsale. We have a very large home here in NoVa and I doubt that we will get that at our next place, so we have lots to get rid of. If your looking for anything let me know, I'm sure I have it!

Fourth of July

This weekend was interesting. The stay at the hotel didn't go as planned. I think everyone who lives in NoVa was there. The lines at the elevator were so so long. We stood in line in one elevator just to get off and have to get onto another elevator to go down to the pool. The entire day didn't go as planned, Ethan had NO naps at all so by 4pm he wasn't in the best mood. However we had fun as a family but decided that because Ethan wasn't going to be that we would come home. Overall not the best money spent but I am happy that we spent time together as a family.

Things with Lily have gotten better. She has started a new med. She still fights her sleep, so I usually end up walking around the house holding her. I have been doing some research about Reflux and GERD. I have found that quite a few people recommend taking the baby to a chiropractor. So this week I am going to start searching for a baby chiropractor.

We move in a little under 3 months. No clue where yet. I have been looking for places every possible place we could move. If we stay in the USMC, I'm hoping we can move into a base house. I don't want to pay for pet and housing deposits. Like to keep our saving account in tact! I'm ready to move on. I don't know why, but I don't really enjoy living here. I feel trapped. Not a fan of traffic, people are rude and its just way to expensive for what you get.

I'll leave you with a few pics from the 4th. I didn't get to many, I'm bad with remembering to take pics :0(

This week has been a wild one. Mama (me) came down with a bad cold. As dramatic as I am, I'll even say I was on my death bed. The hubby stayed home to take care of me. He tries to help, but no one can replace mom. :) I am feeling better but I just sound like Minnie Mouse.

This week I decided to document my son and his odd food habits. He LOVES ketchup and pickles. Sometimes it will be all he will eat. Below are a few of his meals for lunch. The first thing to go at every meal was the applesauce with a bit of ketchup mixed in. Then it's usually the Oreo stick. So weird is my son.

I have gone a little crazy buying stuff this week.

Got a cute wetbag for my cloth diapers to take in my diaper bag for those icky wet diapers. seller: appletreeboutique

Having some shirts made for Ethan and Lily - I want to get some family pics taken when Lily is 4 months old. I'm having Ethan's (big bro) in blue and Lily's (lil sis) in a purple onesie. Can't wait to get them! seller: rubyryder

I found this cool juice box holder. Its called a Dwink. Ethan is notorious for squeezing his juice boxes all over me or dad. I'm hoping this will help. I got one for him and Lily.

Thought I would throw in a few more pics of the kids wearing their cloth diapers.

Here is a pic I got of Ethan today - I guess he wanted an orange?
