About Me

My photo
Hi! I am a momma of 2, I’m southern, a vegetarian, & a student. I’m married to a top-notch guy who serves his country for a living. Ethan is the serious type & Lily is the complete opposite of serious! We are currently living it up in NC! This blog is a little place for me to document our lives.

Ethan's 2nd Birthday Party

Ethan's 2nd birthday party was on 09.18.10. He was turning 2 on 09.22.10 but we decided to have a big bash on the Saturday before.

We decided to have a train themed party. He loves all things "choo-choo!"
I spent the better part of a week baking and cutting out decorations. I made Chocolate Chip cookies, Peanut Butter cookies, sugar cookies, brownies, Oreo balls and 2 types of cupcakes. We had a candy bar and a food station with meatballs, Train shaped PB&J sandwiches and chicken nuggets.

The morning of the party started off interesting with my tall almost 2 year old reaching up and grabbing a cupcake.

Trying to hid the frosting on his mouth

The sad cupcake
I used a template I purchased from Parties By Hardie for all his decorations. I went a little crazy. I made invitations, envelops, water bottle wraps, napkin rings, food wraps, signs for all the food, a banner, signs for outside, cupcake thingy, flags, treat bags and a t-shirt. I am not the best photographer but her are some pics from the party!

Train shaped cookie favors. I used a CD sleeve and a food wrap around it. Bummed I didn't get a better pic. I was running behind and people were showing up. I was in a rush to get pictures.

The only pic I could get of the shirt from the front. I used the large train image as a pattern and cut it out of felt.

PB&J Train shaped sandwiches. I bought a train cookie cutter to do the sugar cookies and sandwiches off Etsy. Check out his other cookie cutters!
The hubby insisted that we needed a bouncy house. So here it is

Having fun with his friends!

This is my little Lily enjoying the party :)

Already planning Lily's 1st birthday party in April. I have a feeling that one will be even more detailed. Hopefully I will learn to take better pics by then.

Campfire Meatballs

Last night for dinner I made Campfire Meatballs, spaghetti and garlic bread. We don't eat beef so I used ground turkey. I also didn't grill them I baked them. My hubby didn't want to grill last night. From what I was told they were yummy. Ethan actually ate one! Which is rare for him to eat any dinner at all.

I even had enough to make the hubby lunch for today.

Yesterday was Lily's first "food" experience. It went well!

Taking some time out for me.

It's been a long time. I have had a lot going on in my personal life. A few of my family members passed away, my grandma and my uncle. I have also been spending time looking for a job and packing up the house. We haven't even lived here a year and we have way to much stuff!
While life has been a bit crazy I have been taking some time out for myself. I have been getting some crafting done. Ethan's birthday party is coming up and I have been hard at work making invitations and "stuff" for the party. I purchased the template from Parties By Hardie on Etsy. Check out her Blog for lots of party ideas!!

So far I have water bottle wraps, envelopes and stickers and the invites done. Not pictured are the napkin rings and food wraps. I have a few signs made and I working on cutting out the train banner. Woo it's a lot of work but totally worth it!

I ave been hard at work on a few other projects for Lily and a friends 2 daughters.

Two Owls - purple and green one is for Lily and I made the pink one for a friend's daughter.

Crayon portfolio is for my friend's other daughter. It has a crayon pocket, sticker and paper pocket! Got the patterns off Etsy also - check out Ginia18.
Excuse my lack of photography skills, they are really cute I promise!

Next on my crafty list was a few cards.

"Shine Card" - I need to add some yellow buttons, just didn't have any on hand at the time.

Birthday card for my MIL - she loved it. I think it is very her style, very Indian :)

I'm new at this whole card making and scraping but I really like it. I just need more time to myself! With a 2 year old (almost) and a 5 month old I don't see that happening anytime soon! I hope to scrap a few pages over this week. I'll be sure to share them.

Well that's all for today! Thanks for reading!!
