day 20: a hobby

Well I already posted about my sewing hobby. So I will talk about my newest hobby, scrapping.

I haven't had much time for it since we have been moving and before that crammed into a small apartment. But I came home this weekend from a Scentsy show in Alexandria, VA and my hubby had put of a few new shelves for me and even unpacked and de cluttered my craft room!! It was AWESOME! I can't wait to get in there and do some scrapping. I have so many ideas in my head. First on my list is making Lily's first birthday invites.

Owl pillows I made
A little car card I made for Ethan, it was just something for him to play with. The door opened and closed and came off and so did the wheels. He really liked his face on there as the driver.

day 19: talent of yours

well it isn't blogging, but i'm trying ;0)

I think I have a few talents but I think sewing is one thing I am pretty good at.

Here are some pictures of stuff I made in college (pictures all taken between 2002 and 2005 - so pardon the crappy quality)

Yes, that is a BIG foam sock and yes I made it. I also had to test it out for the director. He made me dance around in the hall to make sure the actress could dance in it. It was not my finest moment.

This was from the first show I designed for a main stage. I was in charge of the peasants. I designed and constructed all the costumes. As You Like It - Shakespeare.

I finished college with a degree in Costume Design in 4.5 years. My last semester was horrible and full of drama. So I couldn't wait to get out of there and take a long break from theatre. So I did just that, I got a job as an Accounting Coordinator for an advertising agency.

If you don't know anything about theatre, well it's hard. You work night and day. I did crews that would go as late at 2am. I worked backstage and would be there late and would have class at 8am the next morning. Yes, all nighters are common in college but try building sets at midnight or painting with the smelliest paint (milk based) at 1 am. I was tired and burnt out. But I miss it, I miss sewing and being creative. I hope now that I live closer to Wilmington, NC and the kids are getting older, that I can find a little costume work here and there. But until then I will just sew name tapes, chevrons and hem USMC uniforms.

day 18: wedding!!

We got married September 30, 2006 at North Topsail Beach, NC. It was a beautiful day (I got sunburnt :( ) Pretty much drama free which was a suprise since I planned the entire thing in 6 weeks. My BFF, Lena was Maid of Honor, Sohel's brother Zo was Best man and we were married by our friend Justin, who got ordained online :)

Enjoy the pics!

getting ready to walk down the aisle
Didn't realize there was a HUGE dune until after we rented the house!
Woot!! Married :) :)
Everyone who came to our wedding, small but FUN bunch :)
Doing a little decorating

Cake...she tried. It was supposed to look like henna.

Sunset during the reception

Beach house we rented, we stayed there, got married there and had our reception on the decks overlooking the ocean

We did our wedding on a SMALL budget and in a short amount of planning time. We had a great time and made lots of memories that people are still talking about 4 years later.

day 17: a piece of art

Andy Warhol has always been my favorite artist. I think he is just so neat and well weird :)

day 16: a song that makes me cry

day 15: role model

I have been thinking about this one for a few days and honestly I can't think of anyone who stands out besides the normal. My parents and my hubby. All for different reasons.

day 14: non-fiction book

This was the last non-fiction book I read. I can't help myself...I like Tori Spelling. I read all her books and watch all her shows. I even follow her on twitter...

day 13: fictional book

I recently read this book (well listened to it on my iphone). It was a funny book and worth a read if you are looking for a quick, fun read

day 12: something you are OCD about

hum...I guess I am OCD about plans. I don't like things changing. If you tell me one thing I would like it to stay that way. I get pretty annoyed :)

day 11: a photo taken of me recently

This is the most recent picture taken of me that's not in the background of the kids pics. It was on my 28th birthday...dang I'm old. Look how excited my mom is to be at my party ;)

day 10: a photo taken of me over 10 years ago

I've been on a little bit of a blogging hiatus. Life has been in my way :)

day 10: a photo taken of me over 10 years ago

This picture was taken around 10 years ago (can't you tell by the nice quality of the picture??!?!). I was a freshmen in college. I miss my short sassy hair :)

day 8: a photo that makes you angry/sad

A photo that makes me angry/sad.

This photo makes me sad

This is my biggest fear, I am not afraid of being alone. I am afraid of my son or daughter having to grow up at 7 or 8. I want them to live a carefree life and not have to deal with their fathers death. I know and have accepted that this is very possible with being married to a Marine but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I am very proud of my husband for all he does for our family and for the country and I wouldn't trade my life for anything but sometimes I get nervous about what could happen.

day 7: a photo that makes my heart melt

Sorry for the delayed posts, we have been moving into our new house. Offically moved in on Friday! So happy to be out of our cramped apartment.

Anywho on to the question, a photo that makes my heart melt. I would have to pick when Ethan saw Lily for the first time.
