About Me

My photo
Hi! I am a momma of 2, I’m southern, a vegetarian, & a student. I’m married to a top-notch guy who serves his country for a living. Ethan is the serious type & Lily is the complete opposite of serious! We are currently living it up in NC! This blog is a little place for me to document our lives.

got the moving bug

I can't help myself but I have been itching to move again. We have moved a lot in the years we have dated/been married/had kids. This is Ethan's 6th address and Lily's 3! I don't love moving but I like a new place to explore, new people and friends to meet. I know that we will most likely staying here in good ol' Jacksonville, NC for another 3 years at least. We still have 11 years left before Sohel can retire but who knows what will happen within those 11 years.

Today I have been looking up houses for sale in Overland Park, KS. I just can't help it but I would love to move back there and raise the kids. The school systems are great and I just love the way it looks. Lots of outdoor areas, lots of culture to see. I know I have already talked about this place but I really miss it.

dream home in Overland Park

Nebraska Furniture Mart - I could live there. It was my midwestern Ikea

downtown Kansas City, MO. Lots of cool shops and restaurants. We loved going down there eating and window shopping.

I'm going to be taking the GRE in August/September and starting to work on getting a MAT in elementary education. Hopefully I can start work in the next few years and maybe that can be my way of getting us back out to Kansas.

p.s. if you checked out my etsy shop {a bit of something sweet} you may have noticed there is nothing in it. Well I have changed my mind about what I want to do. The hubs and I are working on a new idea.

Thanks for stopping by!

card making

Hi all.

I wanted to show you a few cards i've made recently. I needed some me time and decided to take it and get a little crafty. I took all the pics with my iphone at 8pm so disregard the quality.

I made all the cards using a kit I got so don't think I'm all that awesome with my matching cards ;). I have very little time to do anything and I'm still pretty new to the scrap/card world so I bought these to give some inspiration and it worked.

Says 'get well soon'

'let your dreams soar'

my mom's mother's day card that I still haven't mailed (oops)

'home is where the heart is...'

'good luck'

I like them and can't wait to send them out to people.

Thanks for stopping by.

hi all.
Been quite around here lately. I've been busy working on my new etsy.com shop, little bit of something sweet (see button on your left!). I'm hard at work making lots of goodies. Mainly been working on sandwich wraps, 2 different size snacks bags and stuffed owls. Working on crayon rolls, picnic rolls and trying to figure out how to make a little tool belt. I find it very hard to find the time to get anything done. The minute I fire up the sewing machine I've got a few curious children all over me trying to see what i'm up too. Its coming along, slowly but surely. I was shooting for a May 15 opening but I think its going to be more of end of May opening.

We have been having lots of warm weather around here and its been great. We spend most of our days in the pool and just hanging around.

For Easter the weather was nice so that weekend we headed 3 hours west to the Zoo. The kids had a great time. We only did the Africa side which has most of the animals Ethan wanted to see.

On Easter Sunday we had a Easter egg hunt inside and just a relaxing day just the 4 of us. Ethan and Lily got some clothing, books and one toy in there basket. Ethan loved finding eggs (filled with fruit snacks!), Lily was sort of clueless.
We are trying to plan a little getaway before the hubby leaves for school. We are thinking of renting a camper from base and trying the whole camping thing. Should be interesting with the 2 active kids.
